Duplicate Listing Removal for Contractors

Duplicate business listings split your reviews, confuse Google, and send customers to dead-end profiles.

The numbers

We find every duplicate across Google, Yelp, and the wider web, then merge or remove them so your real listing gets full credit.

Your Reviews Are Split and Your Rankings Diluted, and Nobody Told You

Somewhere on Google there is a second listing for your business. Maybe a third. Some were generated by Google itself, some by a previous agency, some when you moved or changed a phone number. They all compete with your real profile, taking reviews, confusing customers, and weakening your rankings.

Google generated a second listing from an aggregator using your old address, and customers are leaving reviews on it.

You have a duplicate on Yelp with a different phone number that you cannot edit, because nobody knows who claimed it.

Your reviews are split across two profiles, making both look weaker than the total should.

A former agency created a listing you never knew about, and it outranks your real one for some searches.

Customers call a number from a duplicate that rings out or is disconnected, and you never hear about the lost job.

The Root CauseGoogle and other platforms generate listings automatically from aggregator feeds, user suggestions, and scraped web data. Every time your information changes — a new number, an address update, a name tweak — there is a risk a new duplicate gets created instead of the old record being updated.

What Duplicate Listing Removal Includes

We find every duplicate across Google, Yelp, Bing, Apple Maps, and the trade directories, then merge, claim, or remove them so your real profile gets all the credit.

Comprehensive duplicate scan

We scan Google Maps, Yelp, Bing, Apple Maps, Facebook, and dozens of other directories for duplicate and near-duplicate listings of your business.

Google merge requests

For Google duplicates we submit merge requests through the proper channels, combining reviews onto your primary listing and removing the duplicate from Maps.

Third-party removal

We claim or request removal of duplicates on Yelp, Bing, Apple Maps, Facebook, BBB, and industry directories. Every platform has its own process and each one is different.

Source prevention

We fix the incorrect aggregator data that caused the duplicates in the first place. Skip this step and they regenerate within months.

Review recovery

Where the platform allows it, we recover reviews posted on duplicates and merge them back onto your primary profile so no customer feedback is lost.

Ongoing monitoring

For ongoing clients we scan quarterly, because platforms can generate a new listing at any time from third-party data you never see.

How We Remove Your Duplicates

Discovery to resolution in four to eight weeks, depending on how fast each platform responds.

Week 1 · Discovery and Documentation

We scan every platform, document each duplicate with URLs and screenshots, and classify it: Google-generated, user-created, agency-created, or scraped.

Weeks 2–3 · Merge and Removal Requests

We submit merge requests for Google, removal requests for third parties, and fix the aggregator data underneath. We follow up persistently, because some platforms need several submissions.

Weeks 4–8 · Verification and Follow-Up

We verify every removal and merge went through, escalate the ones that stall, and deliver a final report showing the resolved duplicates and the clean state of your listing ecosystem.

Is Duplicate Removal Right for You?

Perfect for

  • Contractors who know or suspect they have duplicates on Google or elsewhere.
  • Businesses with reviews split across profiles, where consolidating instantly strengthens the primary listing.
  • Companies that have moved, rebranded, or changed numbers and still see old listings persisting.
  • Contractors losing jobs to dead-end listings with disconnected numbers or old addresses.

Not right for

  • New businesses with no listing presence yet. You need citation building first, not removal.
  • Contractors with genuine multiple locations. Each real location should keep its own listing, and we only remove illegitimate duplicates.
  • Anyone expecting instant results. Google merges alone can take four to eight weeks.

Consolidate the Listings, Consolidate the Rankings.

Stop letting duplicates take your reviews and split your visibility across profiles you do not control.

Questions

What owners ask about this.

How do I know if I have duplicates?

Search your business name on Google Maps and look for multiple pins. Search your phone number and any old addresses too. Our scan catches what manual searching misses: listings under former business names, slight spelling variations, and numbers you no longer use.

Will I lose reviews if a duplicate is removed?

When Google merges two listings the reviews typically move onto the surviving profile. On other platforms it depends on their policy. We prioritise merging over removal wherever possible to preserve reviews, and we tell you what to expect for each duplicate before we act.

Can duplicates come back?

Yes, if the root cause is left alone. That is why removal is only half the work. We fix the aggregator and directory data that generated them, because otherwise Google recreates the same duplicate within months from the same bad source.

How is this different from NAP consistency cleanup?

NAP consistency fixes wrong information on listings that should exist: old address, outdated number, name variations. Duplicate removal eliminates entire listings that should not exist at all. Related problems, different fixes, and most contractors need both.

How long does a Google merge take?

Typically two to eight weeks. Some resolve in days, others need escalation through Google support. We follow up and escalate where required, but the timeline sits with Google, and anyone promising a fixed date is guessing.

See what the audit finds.
